Hiking

Our gasthof is the perfect base for long and short walks. In the area you will find several hiking trails and the Alpe-Adria-Trial runs behind our gasthof.

Hiking in National Park Hohe Tauern

National Park Hohe Tauern is a pleasure for everyone who loves hiking. For example, several waterfalls collapse at the foot of the Großglockner into the depth of the valley. National Park Hohe Tauern has nine new routes in Carinthia called ‘The Wild Water’. The routes lead past turbulent streams, bridges, beautiful views and let you enjoy the impressive scenery.

In our reception area we have maps with hiking routes ready for you. And of course you can always ask us for more information.

Hiking the Alpe-Adria-Trail

The Alpe-Adria Trail is a new, elongated trail from the foot of the Großglockner to Muggia on the Adriatic Sea. The route has been developed and carried out in cooperation with three partners from Austria (Kärnten Werbung), Slovenia (Slovenia’s Tourist Board) and Italy (VVV Friuli-Venezia Giulia). The respective Alpine associations (ÖAV, CAI and PZS) are also partners of the trail. They are mainly responsible for the maintenance of the paths and the signposting. The Alpe-Adria trail runs through three countries and is designed as a route where it is fun and not too difficult to walk, especially in the non-alpine area.

The trail is made up of 43 stages and along the route you can find accommodations everywhere to stay overnight. Our guesthouse is approx. 150-200 meters from the route. Full information about the Alpe-Adria Trail can be found on their website.

Prefer cycling instead of walking. No problem! Check out the possibilities of the bike routes and if necessary bike rental.
